Teen Advisory Council
Youth Resources' TEEN ADVISORY COUNCIL began in 1987 with 12 students and now has over 80 members. These high school leaders meet every other Friday morning at 5:55 a.m. to identify youth problems, discuss solutions, plan outreach events, and screen grant proposals for the Make A Difference Grants. They also have the unique opportunity to interact with our community leaders such as the Mayor, members of the Evansville City Council, Vanderburgh County Commissioners, and the E-VSC School Board, business executives, leaders of nonprofit agencies, and other individuals dedicated to improving our community.
Serving on the Teen Advisory Council prepares youth for the challenges they will
face as college students, employees, employers, and community volunteers.
Membership requirements are:
- Attend all meetings (3 unexcused absences are allowed)
- Serve on a committee (a list can be downloaded below)
- Complete 30 hours of community service per school year
- Serve rotations shadowing a member of the Evansville City Council, Vanderburgh County Commissioners, or the EVSC School Board.
High school students who are interested in joining the Teen Advisory Council can download an application below.
