High School TEENPOWER
Healthy teens powered by Vectren

Youth Resources' High School TEENPOWER Conference is held in June at the University of Evansville and is the only youth substance abuse prevention conference of its kind in the tri-state area. TEENPOWER began in 1992 and is a working initiative to reduce the experimentation, use, and addictions of drugs, alcohol, and tobacco by the youth in Southwestern Indiana.
TEENPOWER is designed to provide key components necessary to reduce early experimentation by providing groups of peers for support, attending workshops for education, listening to national keynote speakers for motivation, being surrounded by positive peer influence, and interacting with positive adult role models. The most unique aspect is that all components of the conference are planned by a group of high school students who serve on the youth staff and meet from January to June to make TEENPOWER a life-changing experience for their peers.
Youth attend the conference as part of a team (2 males, 2 females, 1 adult advisor) from their school, church, or youth-serving organization. Those not on a team, can still attend the camp as an individual. After camp each team is eligible for a $400 grant to implement an anti-drug, alcohol or tobacco project.
